How a move actually runs

OPERATING LAYER: BASTARDS INC.®
DATA CAPTURE: AUTOMATED EXTRACT // MACHINE SPEED
DEPLOYMENT FIELD: [KNOKKE // ANTWERP // BREDA // GLOBAL]
VERDICT: BUILT, NOT PITCHED.

Most opportunities die in a document. They get researched, presented, admired and shelved, because nobody was ever responsible for making the thing exist.

We take the other side of that. We see something, we question it, we create the concept, we build it, and where it makes sense we stay in it.

01 — We see.

An opportunity, a gap, a building, a brand or a market nobody is treating seriously. It usually starts as irritation: this could be so much better, and nobody is doing it.

02 — We question.

Should this exist? For whom? Why would anyone care? Most ideas die right here, and that is the cheapest place for them to die. Killing an idea in week two is a result, not a failure.

03 — We create.

Concept, positioning, business model, brand and experience as one thing, not five deliverables from five suppliers who never met. This is where taste stops being decoration and starts being the product.

04 — We build.

The company, the place, the product, the partnership. Built, not pitched. A21 in Knokke is a townhouse we bought with a partner and are reworking — old-style character, very modern details — for a mid-2027 launch. Hotel SuperRebel in Breda was built in 2022 with a team of architects and builders as the first hotel where you cannot sleep. Both exist. Neither is a slide.

05 — We participate.

Where it makes sense we stay in: ownership, royalties, performance upside or participation in the deal. That is also why our arrangements are not always an hourly rate. Skin in the game changes the work, and it changes the advice.

What we are not.

Not a consultancy that recommends. Not an agency that executes someone else's decision. An independent house that carries responsibility for the thing existing.

An opportunity nobody around you is taking seriously? hello@bastards-inc.com.

Questions // Answers
What is business building?
Business building is creating a company or venture from opportunity to operation — concept, model, brand, product, launch — rather than advising an existing company on what to do. The builder carries responsibility for the thing existing, not for the recommendation.
How is a venture builder different from an agency or a consultancy?
A consultancy delivers a recommendation and an agency delivers work for a client's business. A venture builder creates the business itself, usually with shared ownership or upside, and stays involved through launch and operation.
How does BASTARDS INC. get paid?
Depending on the move: a commitment fee, performance upside, ownership, royalties or participation in the deal. The structure follows the risk and the ambition of the project.
What happens if an idea does not survive the questioning?
It stops. Most opportunities are killed in the second step, before money and months are committed. Deciding early that something should not exist is the cheapest decision available.
Who does BASTARDS INC. work with?
Founders, CEOs, owners, developers and entrepreneurs across Belgium, the Netherlands and Europe who have an opportunity worth building and no appetite for an ordinary answer.
Who founded BASTARDS INC.?
BASTARDS INC.® was founded by creative entrepreneur Lodewijk Varossieau. The house is based in Knokke and Antwerp, Belgium.
